What is GDPR?
The EU`s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) expands the rights of individuals to control how their personal information is collected and processed, and places a range of new obligations to be more accountable for data protection. This privacy notice allows us (Cardiff Mini Club) to inform you (club member/event attendee) exactly what personal information we collect, how it is used/stored and what your rights are relating to this information.
What information we collect
- Personal information (such as name, address, email, contact number)
- Vehicle information (such as make, model, registration number)
- Photographs and videos
Why we collect and use this information
Your details are used by the CMC so we know who you are and how to contact you. We will contact you for the purpose of distributing meeting minutes, sharing event information and other legitimate interests. Your details are not passed onto any other third party or between other club members without prior given consent.
Storing this information
Club members – We hold your data for the duration of your membership with the club and up to 3 months after to allow fair time for membership renewal. Access to the data is controlled only by elected members of the club.
Event attendees – We hold on to your information for 1 year following the event to allow invitations to be sent for the next event. Access to the data is controlled only by elected members of the club.
Photographs and videos
Photographs and videos are taken at all events attended by CMC for the purpose of club promotion, which may contain images of individuals and their vehicles. We reserve the right to use these images on our website, social media and magazines for promotional purposes unless otherwise notified by an individual, stating that they do not wish their image to be used.
Your rights
Under the data protection legislation, you have the right to request access to the information about you that we hold. To request your personal information, contact a member of the CMC Committee.
You have the right to have your personal data erased immediately following membership expiration or event completion on request. We will also edit personal data on request during the membership attendance period.
